Continental Airlines continental.com Home Page Tour

Challenge:
Continental had revamped its continental.com home page to provide better organization and additional features. Accompanying these changes were the inherent risks that visitors could be disoriented by the new look, wouldn't recognize the enhanced features or wouldn't know how to take advantage of the site's new capabilities.

The Lacek Group's challenge was to create an introductory landing page at continental.com that informed visitors of new site enhancements and also demonstrated the site's more powerful competencies. The page needed to convey a great deal of information clearly and simply, and needed to function with or without Flash animation.

Solution:
Lacek used a snapshot of the new continental.com home page to develop a roll-over tour, allowing customers to explore the page, scroll up and down and view animated rollover windows that explained key new features and capabilities. When customers finished the tour, they automatically ended up at the new continental.com home page. The default tour page incorporated engaging Flash animation, while a second page presented the same content without Flash, ensuring all visitors could take the tour.

Results:
The tour was so well-received it was also sent to OnePass members by e-mail.
